Meanwhile, the “Take It Back Movement,” a human rights group, has organized a protest in Lagos State against the escalating prices of food and the overall high cost of living. This action comes despite warnings issued by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, on Sunday.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced its intention to join the protest, commencing tomorrow. The decision stems from the alleged failure of the government to implement agreements reached on October 2, 2023, following the removal of the fuel subsidy.
The NLC’s decision to protest follows a 14-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government to address the widespread hardship experienced across the nation
