Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa of Ondo State and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is currently leading in 13 local government areas in the ongoing collation of results for Saturday’s governorship election.
The State Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, who also serves as the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State, commenced the collation exercise at 12:10 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the results announced so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ayedatiwa secured victories in all 13 local governments declared, including Idanre Local Government Area, the home base of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governorship candidate, Festus Akingbaso.
Breakdown of Results
In Ifedore Local Government, APC garnered 14,157 votes to defeat PDP’s 5,897.
In Ondo East, APC polled 8,163 votes against PDP’s 2,843.
In Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo, APC received 16,600 votes while PDP scored 4,442.
In Idanre, APC narrowly edged out PDP with 9,114 votes to 8,940.
However, PDP agents raised allegations of electoral malpractices in Idanre, citing incidents of ballot snatching in Alade and no voting in Ofosun Oniseri. They called for the exclusion of affected votes from the results.

Akoko North West: APC – 25,010, PDP – 5,502
Ose LG: APC – 16,555, PDP – 4,472
Akure South: APC – 32,969, PDP – 17,926
Akoko North East: APC – 25,657, PDP – 5,072
Prof. Akinwumi announced that collation would resume at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday to finalize the results from the remaining five local governments.
