The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D.,has extended his congratulations to Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu on the occasion of his 53rd birthday, celebrated on Sunday, May 5th.
The Speaker, via his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, lauded Kalu as a “worthy and dependable partner,” who has been a pillar of support to him.
Speaker Abbas commended Kalu, the representative of Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, for his exemplary demonstration of democratic principles and patriotic commitment since his initial election to the House in 2019.
Following Kalu’s reelection in 2023, Speaker Abbas highlighted his exceptional qualities, which distinguished him, leading to his unanimous election as Deputy Speaker on June 13th of the preceding year.
“Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu is one Nigerian who deserves to be celebrated for his commitment, dedication, and zeal to nation-building.
“Since our emergence as Speaker and Deputy respectively on June 13, 2023, Rt. Hon. Kalu has been a worthy partner. He has been giving me all the necessary support in piloting the affairs of the House.
“I am quite thrilled by his good qualities. His contributions are worthy of commendation. He is an ally who shares my vision for the 10th House and the nation as a whole,” the Speaker said.
Speaker Abbas conveyed his sincere wishes for Kalu’s continued well-being and success, accompanied by prayers for God’s guidance to bestow upon the Deputy Speaker even greater wisdom as he remains steadfast in his service to the country.
